Bulova Snorkel Automatic 666ft. Diver c.1974
Bulova Snorkel Automatic 666ft. Diver c.1974
Mid-way through the 1970’s, quartz watches were already saturating the watch market, and most brands were transitioning their line toward a quartz-heavy line-up. Before Bulova made a substantial move in this direction, they were still putting out some heavy retro styles: these colorful variants of the Snorkel models were one of them.
Coming in at a shade under 39mm with a big, bold, bi-directional bezel and an awesomely sporty dial-handset combo, these Snorkels are becoming harder to find in great condition. These models housed the 21,600 beat per hour 11AOACB motor, which features quickset date functionality (by pulling the crown all the way out from the closed position), and a quite flexible yet thick-linked integrated bracelet.
Don’t pass up on the very nice example—the photos still don’t quite do the neon orange on the bezel and sweep hand justice—but you’re guaranteed to enjoy this substantial, classic diver from one of the brands we (should) all know and love.

[All vintage watches are expected to function as described. However, due to age and generally unknown service history (unless otherwise stated), these watches may not keep time as accurately as new or quartz (battery) watches. This is completely normal and does not indicate that there is a major problem. Like your automobile, all mechanical watches will likely need to be serviced at some point in time. Please keep this in mind, as there is no guarantee regarding when these vintage watches may need standard maintenance. Every watch sold by Buying On Time is done so with the expectation that it is not currently in need of service or repair, unless noted. We guarantee that all watches sold are accurately described and in the stated condition when they leave our hands.]
