founded as the j. bulova company in 1875 by bohemian-immigrant joseph bulova, bulova watch company was headquartered in new york city and ultimately had numerous locations in the u.s. and switzerland. using scientific means for attaining accuracy, becoming one of the world's best in standardized part production, and existing as a prominent domestic marketing brand, bulova was a dominant and innovative force leading up to and during the
middle of the 20th century until its ultimate sell-off in 1979.
