Clebar Valjoux 7733 Chronograph
Clebar Valjoux 7733 Chronograph
** Recently Serviced **
Choosing what is best about this Clebar is something that doesn’t come easy, but hey…let’s try.
The matte black dial lends for wonderful focal contrast with the sizable stainless steel case; the pale yellow lume plots adding a splash of color that almost makes for a quasi-Speedmaster look.
The super thin coin edge bezel is recessed and quite subdued. Rather than a bulky bezel with insert, this flat bezel keeps the focus on the face of the watch while also keeping the bezel protected from doors, walls, children, and otherwise common destructors.
Under the hood is the venerable Valjoux 7733: The well-known workhorse of handwind chronographs throughout the 1970’s. It may as well be a small Chevy small block 350 packed inside — as I’m sure some of you can appreciate.
While I’ve seen many nice Clebars out in the wild, this timepiece is one of our favorites we’ve ever seen…and one that you certainly won’t come across with any frequency.

[All vintage watches are expected to function as described. However, due to age and generally unknown service history (unless otherwise stated), these watches may not keep time as accurately as new or quartz (battery) watches. This is completely normal and does not indicate that there is a major problem. Like your automobile, all mechanical watches will likely need to be serviced at some point in time. Please keep this in mind, as there is no guarantee regarding when these vintage watches may need standard maintenance. Every watch sold by Buying On Time is done so with the expectation that it is not currently in need of service or repair, unless noted. We guarantee that all watches sold are accurately described and in the stated condition when they leave our hands.]
