Bulova Deep Sea Chronograph c.1971
Bulova Deep Sea Chronograph c.1971
f you’re a fan of Bulova chronographs, you’re aware of the Bulova Deep Sea model. This particular variant is the single line “Bulova” only dialed version (doesn't include “666 feet” on dial). The watch is in very nice condition, particularly the bezel: nice sharp edges on the bezel with lume plot intact and little-to-no color fading. These areas are where most models are found lacking.
The coloring on the Deep Sea Chronograph is a great combination between a navy and a slate blue shade; many you’ll see will fade out lighter over time making for some slight variation in the different specimens. This one is in great shape—and the “reverse panda” styling of the white subdials is icing on the cake.
With a robust 14EB (Valjoux 7733) motor inside, this model brings Bulova reliability along with its notable good looks and 666ft. moniker, as noted on the caseback.

[All vintage watches are expected to function as described. However, due to age and generally unknown service history (unless otherwise stated), these watches may not keep time as accurately as new or quartz (battery) watches. This is completely normal and does not indicate that there is a major problem. Like your automobile, all mechanical watches will likely need to be serviced at some point in time. Please keep this in mind, as there is no guarantee regarding when these vintage watches may need standard maintenance. Every watch sold by Buying On Time is done so with the expectation that it is not currently in need of service or repair, unless noted. We guarantee that all watches sold are accurately described and in the stated condition when they leave our hands.]
